What is the “Engine Up” Aerobic Capacity program? It is a program that primarily uses the machines you see in daily workouts (bike, rower, ski erg) as well as running in order to improve your ability to perform under fatigue. Improve your pacing in conditioning style workouts. Do you dread longer workouts and often feel like you “crash and burn” in the second half of your workouts? Learning your paces with aerobic training will teach you how to stay below that “red line” and finish workouts stronger.

Learn how to read the monitor of the machines to your advantage: Do you know your average watts that you can hold for 90 seconds? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? As you learn to read the monitor and learn your paces you will know the right way to attack different workouts.

Aid your recovery: by maximizing your aerobic system you will be able to recovery faster in interval workouts and help promote muscle recovery outside of workout times.

Improve your breathing during workouts: bringing oxygen to the blood and muscles when you breathe to stay calm, collected, and consistent throughout the workout. Breathing properly must be trained.

Train at a higher intensity, but in a low impact manner: with this program being primarily cyclical based (machines), we have found it easier to maintain due to the lower strain on your body/joints, especially if you have suffered from injuries in the past.
